Centered around the child

The underlying principle of our practice is that everything is centered around the child. We believe that it is very important to work together with the child and its parents to find solutions which are of practical use to the child and its development.

Solution-focused approach

We know from experience that every human being is equipped with inner resources to help him find solutions. Children also have a surprising number of inner resources. This solution-focused approach serves as the guiding principle for our work.

How we work

  • Intake consultation

    Together with you, the parent(s), we first discuss the worries you have concerning the development of your child. During the intake consultation we will together with you determine the nature of the problems, we will then make a first analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of your child and consider what sort of help we can provide. In most cases we will also request information about your child from the school, in agreement with you.

  • Tests

    We recommend that we also carry out tests on your child. Those tests examine intelligence, skills used in practical tasks, personality or learning skills. It is possible that we offer a coaching action plan prior to or following the tests. Treatment can also be offered, for example, in case of learning difficulties.

  • Evaluation

    Following the evaluation interview you will receive a report which includes all the results and recommendations. If necessary, we will refer your child to a child psychiatrist or pediatricia

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Please send an email to info@pgutrecht.nl. You will receive a link for an  application form and return it to us online. We will then get in touch with you as soon as possible  by email. We carry out an intake consultation with parents and children aged 12 years or older. If the parents are divorced, we will ask permission from both parents for carrying out the consultation. If you as a parent are going to attend the consultation by yourself, we will ask the other parent to send by email confirmation of his/her permission for the consultation, as well as his/her contact details.
